DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 55W Accu/V2

The #1 top performing LED Kit for reflectors

Best for Reflector Style Headlights

DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 55W Accu/V2

These are the second generation of DDM's top performing LEDs the SaberLED ProX's. They edge out the new SaberPro 50W model in terms of total output (lumens), and of course distance.

They are incredibly well made and would rate in the top tier for build quality with very high reliability.

Color temperature tested at 5650k, which is closer to the 5500k color we prefer from an LED, great for all driving conditions, especially clear weather.

Beam quality is good, but the beam should be checked when installing like any LED or aftermarket product.

They come in both 6000k (white) and 4500k (warm white). 4500k options are available in single-beam sizes. See below for more details on the 4500k variant.

These LEDs have taken the spotlight for many applications including reflectors and projectors, fog-lights, and so on. Highly recommended for your reflector application!

AuxBeam F-16+

The Top MID-Tier ($50-99) LED Kit for reflectors

Best for Reflector Style Headlights

Auxbeam F-16 Plus

The first-generation F-16 was an early example of LED performance, which wasn't great. Meet the F-16 Plus, a totally different story. The design concentrates output to point light where you need it creating a great beam pattern in reflector style headlights.

We chose the Auxbeam over others in the same category including the Lightening Dark Nucleus Pro (many sizes missing), DDM Tuning SaberPro (go for the Saber ProX for $10 more, and Hikari Ultra (too close to $100). All great options as well, but the F-16 Plus fits perfectly in the price for performance with all of the standard sizes available.

BEST FEATURE: Best Price for Performance

  • 4.3 Star Overall Rating (for Reflector Headlights)
  • +162% Additional Low-Beam Light (979 Peak Hotspot/Distance vs 373 for Halogen)
  • 7760 Total Lumens/kit (vs 3128 for Halogen)
  • 5750k Color Temperature (pure white, blue hint) vs 3400k for Halogen (very yellow)

Cougar Motor Flagship LED

The Best budget (Under $49) LED Kit for reflectors

Best for Reflector Style Headlights

Cougar Motor Flagship

The Cougar Motor Flagship LED's utilize the popular F2 container style, which is idea for both peak brightness with an accurate beam and very high output. You tend to see products alike at a much higher cost. Like most, they don't disclose the model of diodes used, but they are incredibly bright at an extremely low cost.

You'll see over 2.5X the light output and a further distance over halogen. You can't go wrong with this set, but just keep in mind that they only come with a 1 year warranty, and long-term quality may be of concern.

Philips Ultinon Pro9000 HL

The #1 Pick for a Pure White LED (5000k)

Best for ANY Style Headlight or Fog-Light

Philips Ultinon Pro9000 HL

The Pro9000 (and Pro5000) LEDs from Philips are the successor to the older Ultinon Gen 1 and Gen2.

While they are rated at 5800k from Philips, we tested them right at 5000k, which is a pure white (overall). So no or very minimal blue, and same for yellow tones. They come out to a perfect pure white.

In addition to the pure white color is a absolute perfect beam pattern. We recommended them for that as well.

Output is very good, and while they are not the brightest option, they are a very good upgrade at +140% output in a reflector and +78% in a projector (Pro9000).

They are very lightweight, and extremely high quality. As expected from a Philips product.

With many aftermarket LEDs, the quality is typically good, however some cheaper options don't seem to last as long as OE. The Philips have a 5-year guarantee, with an expected lifespan closer to 10 years (depend on use). Becuase they are a major brand, we expect they'll last the life of your vehicle.

While the sizes are more limited, they are highly recommended if beam pattern is your focus (especially in a reflector) if they do have your particular size available. Watch out for the headlight and fog-light specific types, as they have similar packaging, but have a different output (headlight model has a higher output over the fog-light model).

BEST FEATURE: Perfect beam pattern in a reflector, pure white color

  • 4.1 Star Overall Rating (for Headlight Reflectors)
  • +140% Additional Low-Beam Reflector Light (894 Peak Hotspot/Distance vs 373 for Halogen)
  • 3884 Total Lumens/kit (vs 3128 for Halogen)
  • 5000k Color Temperature (perfect white) vs 3400k for Halogen (very yellow)
  • $230 Cost
  •  5 Year Warranty

DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 55W Accu/V2

The #1 Pick for a Warm White LED (4500k)

Best for ANY Style Headlight or Fog-Light

DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 55W Accu/V2 (4500k model)

The DDM's now offer a 4500k color option, which is great to see in LED form. This is a particular bonus due to the ProX V2's being the #1 recommended product overall for output, quality, and so on.

They are incredibly well made and would rate in the top tier for build quality with very high reliability.

Beam quality is good, but the beam should be checked when installing like any LED or aftermarket product.

These LEDs have taken the spotlight for many applications including reflectors and projectors, fog-lights, and so on. Highly recommended for your reflector application!

BEST FEATURE: 4500k Warm White Color Output + Extreme distance/output

  • 5.8 Star Overall Rating (for Reflector Headlights)
  • +245% Additional Low-Beam Light (1288 Peak Hotspot/Distance vs 373 for Halogen)
  • 9766 Total Lumens/kit (vs 3128 for Halogen)

Formula J87 G8 LED

Budget Option For a Warm White LED (4500k)

Best for ANY Style Headlight or Fog-Light

Forumula J87 G8

The Formula J87 G8's were a pleasant surprise when we tested them, as they provide a perfect color temperature (in our opinion) of 4450k, almost the same color of an OEM Xenon bulb which is around 4300k typically.

At that color temperature, they will provide better visibility in inclement weather including snow, rain, sleet, etc. where the typical bluish LEDs fall short.

While the G8's are not the brightest option available, they are extremely bright for their low cost, and are the best option for people looking to fly under the radar a bit more with a warmer color, so they don't stand out as much.

BEST FEATURE: Best Color Temperature for inclement weather

  • 3.8 Star Overall Rating (for Reflector Headlights)
  • +121% Additional Low-Beam Light in Reflectors
  • 6150 Total Lumens/kit (vs 3128 for Halogen)
  • 4450k Color Temperature (pure white, no blue) vs 3400k for Halogen (very yellow)
  • $40 - $59 Cost, Very Reasonable
  • 1 Year Warranty

DRL Compatible LED Kits

Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0 LEDs

The Best LED for a True Compatible DRL

Best for ANY Style Headlight or Fog-Light

Morimoto 2STroke 3.0

The Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0's released with a few key factors in mind. First of course, they are fully compatible with any DRL. This is unheard of for an LED, as other LEDs will either flicker rapidly, run at full brightness, or not function at all. They are simply not designed to work correctly in a DRL.

The 2Stroke 3.0's resolved this by detecting a lower voltage signal (in DRL mode), and changing the brightness down to 30%. They call it 'DRL Drive', and it worked very well during our tests.

There are other great benefits to the 2Stroke 3.0's including a desirable color output (5300k), a perfect beam in a reflector, and unique heat dissipation which retains the heat inside of the headlight (vs. the rear), similar to a halogen bulb, great for inclement weather.

They are incredibly high quality, very bright (+174% reflector, +37% projector). While they are not the #1 brightest LED, if you need a compatible DRL LED in either your low or high beam, look no further than the Morimoto's.

BEST FEATURE: DRL Drive + Perfect beam pattern in a reflector, nice white color

  • 4.1 Star Overall Rating (for Headlight Reflectors)
  • +174% Additional Low-Beam Reflector Light (1022 Peak Hotspot/Distance vs 373 for Halogen)
  • 4050 Total Lumens/kit (vs 3128 for Halogen)
  • 5300k Color Temperature (perfect white) vs 3400k for Halogen (very yellow)
  • $205 Cost
  •  3 Year Warranty
